Historically, December signals a clear slowdown as buyers pause and sellers wait for the new year. This year, however, the Bay Area market continued to defy seasonal expectations. While activity did ease slightly, motivated buyers stayed engaged, and sellers who remained on the market were met with steady interest—especially for well-presented, well-located homes.
 
Across the region, properties continued to take longer to sell overall, but pricing stabilized in many areas. Buyers and sellers alike used December as a moment to assess the market, close out transactions, and position themselves for what comes next.
